Tromso Northern Lights Dinner Cruise
We welcome you aboard our floating restaurant as we set sail from Tromsø in search of the Northern Lights. Then, we cruise silently into the darkness of the Tromsø fjords with our electric engine. You could order a local craft beer from Graff or a selection from our wine list while you relax at a table by the panoramic windows.
Our dinner serves with fresh, locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, with a modern take on traditional Northern Norwegian cuisine. Throughout the journey, our hosts will share insights into the fishing industry in Tromsø and Northern Norway.
Seafood Dinner Menu:
Starter: Cured Herring
Every winter, herring flock into Northern Norway’s fjords, attracting not only local fishermen but also whales eager to feast. We celebrate this rich tradition by serving fresh herring, a rare delicacy, paired with local potatoes, dill, and a hint of onion for a vibrant, full-bodied taste of the fjord’s winter bounty.
Main: Arctic Cod
In Northern Norway, cod represents more than sustenance; it’s a symbol of resilience and heritage. Each winter, Skrei cod embarks on an extraordinary migration from the Barents Sea, which enhances its firm texture and rich flavor. Our chef prepares it with a delicate blue mussel sauce made with locally-sourced apple juice, served with bread and butter.
Dessert: Apple Cinnamon Panna Cotta
For dessert, we prepare a rømme-based custard inspired by traditional Scandinavian flavors, topped with tart Norwegian apples and a cardamom crumble. This dessert offers a sweet, authentic taste of the North, a perfect end to the meal.
