Itinerary:
3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga and Fes Private Transfer suggested itinerary:
Day 1 – Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou kasbah – Dades Gorges
You will start the trip from Marrakech to Fes heading toward Ouarzazate via the Tizi N’tichka Pass driving through the High Atlas Mountains where you can stop and take nice pictures along the way. After, you will visit Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient Kasbah (fortified village) listed as UNESCO’s heritage site. Many famous movies were filmed there.
Then we will continue to Ouarzazate, also known as the Hollywood of Africa, which houses the largest movie studios on the continent. We can stop over there for lunch (optional) before driving through the Skoura, which is an oasis of palm groves with beautiful Kasbahs.
After, we will pass through the Rose Valley where the Rose Festival is held every May in this town. On the way, keep your eyes open for a numerous Berber villages built using mud and bricks. For the 1st night, you will spend in a hotel in Dades Valley.
Day 2 – Dades Gorges – Palm trees of Tinjdad – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will visit another gorge at the Todra Canyons, which as high as 300m. It is an ideal place for a walk and exploring on your own. Then, we will drive near Merzouga, where the stunning desert dunes are found. You will ride the camels and cross the ocean of the dunes. Then, we suggest you to climb the dunes to watch sunset. At night, you can also enjoy the view of the bright stars in the sky! At the 2nd night, you will sleep in the nomad camp behind the famous dunes.
Day 3 – Merzouga – Erfoud – Errachidia – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
Wake up early to watch sunrise at the dunes is an amazing thing to do, then get your breakfast before riding back to the Auberge on the camels where you will meet your driver. We will then drive to Errachidia via Erfoud to the Ziz valley. Lunch will be at Midelt. After lunch, we will drive through the cedar forest at Azrou and the Middle Atlas where you may see the wild monkeys before arriving at Fes.
