Itinerary:
This adventure begins in the morning, our professional driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Fez, heading towards the stunning Sahara Desert in Merzouga, home to the famous Erg Chebbi Dunes. But first, we will drive through the mind-boggling Atlas Mountains, with your first stop in Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland” for its picturesque architecture. Next, visit the cedar forests near Azrou, where playful Barbary Apes roam freely. Continue your drive to Midelt, the apple capital, where you can stop for lunch. Along the way, capture photos of the scenic Ziz Valley. After reaching Rissani, the gateway to the Sahara, prepare for an memorable 90-minute camel trek through the dunes. Arrive at a Berber camp nestled among towering sand dunes and unwind to the sound of traditional Berber music under a sky full of stars. End your day with a delicious dinner and a magical night in the heart of the Sahara Desert.
Begin your day with an amazing sunrise over the sand dunes before heading back to Merzouga, either by camel or 4WD. After a healthy breakfast and hot shower, we start the journey towards the Dades Gorges. Our first stop is Erfoud, a town famous for its fossil production, before continuing to Tinghir, known as “the city of the mountain” in Tamazight. This lovely Berber village showcases the beautiful contrast between lush palm groves and traditional homes.
Next, we explore the Todra Gorges, with towering 200-meter-high rock walls. Afterward, we continue to the Dades Valley, a region known for its beautiful gorges and amazing views of the Atlas Mountains, particularly the unique rock formations referred to as “monkey feet.” End the day with dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the Dades Valley.
After breakfast, we will head towards the Valley of the Roses, where you can visit the local cooperatives that produce Morocco’s famous natural rose water. Next, we arrive in Ouarzazate to explore the historic Kasbah of Taourirt. A short drive brings us to the renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been the backdrop for films like Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltring Sky, and Babel. Enjoy lunch here while soaking in the history.
Afterward, we continue our journey over the Tizi N-Tichka pass, taking in the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains. As we reach Marrakech, you’ll bid farewell to your driver, marking the end of an memorable adventure.
